Qualification Description


This qualification reflects the role of frontline retail team members who use a defined and limited range of operational skills to undertake workplace activities. They are involved in mainly routine and repetitive tasks and work under the direct supervision of others.

This qualification provides a pathway to work in a diverse range of retail settings including specialty retailers, supermarkets, department stores, and quick-service restaurants.

Individuals with this qualification are able to perform roles such as frontline team member, customer service assistant, and point-of-sale operator.
No occupational licensing, certification, or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

As a guide, people completing this course:

  • have completed Year 10 or equivalent

OR

  • a qualification at a Certificate II level or higher

OR

  • at least 2 years of relevant industry experience

You will also need to be at least 18 years at the time of admission.

It is also expected that you will have a PC, laptop of other internet connected device, Microsoft Word (or compatible software) and a functional webcam for recording audio/video.

Assessments

Successful completion of a range of mandatory assessments is required, in order to be issued your certification documentation.

Assessments for these courses will include a combination of:

  • Knowledge/theory-based written short-answer questions
  • Role plays
  • Case-studies / scenarios
  • Projects
  • Group and solo practical activities
